A Silent Place

Follow a young boy in a 1980s, arcade-style murder mystery. Filmed inside Joysticks Games arcade in Downtown Houston, this one-minute short film was created as an entry for Film Riot's one-minute short film competition in November 2017 and was featured as a winner in the University of Houston RedFest in 2017.

In Simpson's first ever short film, a group of teens find themselves running away from...well something. One by one they are picked off until just a few remain. What is after them and will they survive? And where did they get the guns? -- This film placed in the University of Houston's Red VidFest in 2016 and won best Motion Media Drama in 2017's RedFest.

Through a touching story about love, hope, and how everything moves with time, Simpson creates an experience that matches the ethos of Hans Zimmer's "Time" from the motion picture "Inception." This film was entered in 2020's Enter the World of Hans Zimmer global competition, qualified for the short list of 31 entries out of the 400+ submissions, and is featured on Zimmer's YouTube channel.
