In a spin-off of a popular movie set in a quiet world, A Silent Place follows a young man as he learns to survive in a hostile environment. This short film won first prize in the Motion Media Drama category in the 2017 RedFest at the University of Houston.

Through a touching story about love, hope, and how everything moves with time, Simpson creates an experience that matches the ethos of Hans Zimmer's "Time" from the motion picture "Inception." This film was entered in 2020's Enter the World of Hans Zimmer global competition, qualified for the short list of 31 entries out of the 400+ submissions, and is featured on Zimmer's YouTube channel.
