1986. Following an accident during a mountain hike, Primo Levi is rescued by a man who is unaware of his history and does not even understand the meaning of the number tattooed on his arm. The documentary follows the work of those who, in the aftermath of the outbreak of war, immediately took action, even at the risk of their own lives, to secure works of art and tried to understand why, in the event of war, destroying and plundering works of art is one of the first objectives of invading armies in an attempt to eliminate the culture of a nation to erase its memory and annihilate its essence.

No other country in the world has the same kind of affection and admiration toward Walt Disney and his art and characters as Italy. His movies are legendary and his stories belong to the collective imagination of generations of Italians who grew up with his world of dreams and hopes. This documentary explores this love story.

Led by Carlo Verdone, a truly Roman, we explore the social and cultural origins of Roman comedy. A "disillusioned" form of comedy, a bit cynical, a bit resigned, constantly toeing the line between popular spirit and sophisticated writing, between indolence and passion, between laughter and tears, between film, theater, and TV.

"The Italian Jobs: Paramount Pictures e l'Italia" tells the story of two men, two Italian-American executives, Pilade Levi and Luigi Luraschi, who came to Italy at the end of the Second World War to recreate the Italian film industry; their work went on to have a significant influence on cinema worldwide. The idea of producing European films financed by American funds, in fact, originated in Italy with Paramount Pictures. Masterpieces such as Nights of Cabiria, Romeo and Juliet and The Conformist, to name just a few, were created precisely thanks to the work of these two men. The exclusive testimonies of Gioia Levi and Tony Luraschi, the children of the two executives, describe how their fathers were not only businessmen but how their lives were dedicated entirely to cinema.

The Lion is the symbol of Venice, but also of courage: that of a city and - in our case - of a Film Festival and a media event that did not give up and stubbornly "wanted" to be realized in spite of the world around, of Codiv19 and the great uncertainty that dominates the global situation. In an 'abnormal' city, never seen before so deprived of tourists and the general chaos that - in general - characterizes it between the end of August and the beginning of September, our story begins, made up of a Venice never seen before and - therefore - little or nothing told cinematically. A crescendo of emotions, which between stage and behind the scenes, between what passes in front of the screen and what remains behind involves the viewer in depth.
