Mizhineer Poovukal is a 1986 Malayalam film directed by Kamal. The film stars Mohanlal, Urvashi, Lizy Priyadarshan and Thilakan in lead roles.

The lives of two sisters separated in childhood look set to intersect dramatically again. Two sisters (Raasi and Kaveri) are separated when a beggar kidnaps the younger of them one day. Murali doesn’t want to study and runs away with some gypsies, making friends with a gypsy girl, Kakkothi (Revathi). Unlike Murali, Kakkothi wants to study. Where will this ambition take her?

What happens when he actually meets her, and comes to know that she even had no idea about his existence, forms the crux of the story.

Kunju Lakshmi is the youngest daughter of the aristocratic Kavumpattu family in Peruvannapuram. She is pampered by her brothers and is a little arrogant. The family owns the local college. Sivasankaran comes to the college as a peon to replace the Padmanabhan who fails to give the promised donation to the Kavumpattu family in return for the job. In the meantime a love note that was written for Kunju by a classmate ends up in her book and she accuses Sivasankar of writing her the letter. Kunju gets into a fight with Sivasankaran. Her brothers join the fight and Sivasankaran declares that he will marry Kunju in 15 days.

Meenakshi who is confused between the word her father had given to Akhilachandran and her love.

The film is about a special friendship between a boy and girl, Aby (Kunchacko Boban) and Sona (Shalini). Aby and Sona are childhood friends but they have no romance between them. It was too late when they realized their romance.

Keshavanunni is a rural theatre owner who takes an active interest in solving various local problems. He is assisted by Thangu, and along the way, he falls in love with Mallika. The arrival of two conmen complicates everything.

Balakrishnan who is sick and has a heart disease, gets a heart transplant from a man who died in a recent car accident. The operation is a success but, Balakrishnan starts seeing the ghost of Aby, who lingers around for Balakrishnan to help him find his murderer so that his soul can rest in peace.

Nandakumar is a college professor who wants to get the best treatment for his paralyzed fiancee, Uma Maheshwari. Trouble starts brewing when Shruthi, Nandakumar's student falls in love with him. Will Shruti let Uma unite with Nandakumar weaves the rest of the story.

Vishnu is part of a local circus group. On one of their tours, Vishnu meets a girl and his life changes forever.

Aryadevi, a famous singer, who has been given her first break by Raveendran, comes to Kochi from Bombay with her daughter Pooja (Navya Nair).

Vishnu, a teacher, gets transferred to a distant village. Vishnu's son passes away in an accident. Vishnu decides to hide this news from his wife, who is in prison, till she is released.
