Young-gu and Yong-pal

Set during the Japanese occupation of Korea, Bun-yi is sold into marriage as the wife of Young-gu, the intellectually disabled son of a wealthy family involved in secretly funding the independence movement. As she endures hardship and family conflict, betrayal from within the household leads to her expulsion. After Korea’s liberation, both Bun-yi and Young-gu struggle to rebuild their lives separately. After the Korean War, Young-gu and his family establish a successful restaurant in Seoul. Their son grows up to graduate from university and eventually becomes a prosecutor, fulfilling his parents’ hopes for upward mobility. Proud but socially awkward, Young-gu becomes involved in a series of comedic situations that test those around him. Over time, his sincerity wins people over, and the family looks ahead to a stable and happy future.

Suk-jin, a naive Young woman lives on her own in Seoul. When her brother dies following a car accident, she finds out he had been having an affair with the wife of a businessman.

Mi-Rye is a high school girl who participates in volunteer service in a rural village during summer vacation. When she gets lost in the mountain, she meets Tae-Ho who is a member of biology club of boys' high school. He is on his way down to village after he finishes gathering herbs and plants on high altitude. They stray in the thick fog and finds a villa where they stay awake. The next morning, they are found by teachers. They are expelled from school because the older generation and teachers don't believe their sexual morality. Years later, Mi-Rye fails to accomplish her love with Tae-Ho, and marries to another man.

After a performance depicting the lives of jesters during the Joseon era, the cast, led by director Byungsoo, immerses themselves in rehearsing a new play.
