The film is about the fate of the soldiers of the Izhora battalion. Formed from the factory’s workers, the battalion took part in decisive battles against the regular units of the Nazi army and ended its heroic journey on the coast of the Baltic Sea.

Several major robberies take place in Leningrad and the region, but the criminal leaves no trace. The Inurkollegia announces that the administrator of the boarding house "Otdykh" Balyasin unexpectedly receives a large sum of money as an inheritance, and the police decide to set a trap for the criminal, believing that he will not pass by such money. An employee of the Criminal Investigation Department arrives at the boarding house, and it soon becomes clear that the elusive criminal is one of the vacationers at the boarding house.

The honest guy is accused of stealing a car of a hard-to-find product. The collective of the motor depot amicably stands up to protect their comrade and helps the investigator, Colonel Afanasyev, to find and expose the true criminals.
