Young Petter moves together with his family from a happy life in a rural fisher's village to a rough community and school life in the city of Oslo.

The throne of ice skating sees a change of regent when Hans takes over as “The King”, and the sports press can’t seem to get enough of him.

Young student Steffen Berg finds it difficult to adapt to society's laws and rules. After dropping out of medical school, he starts working in a shop to support his family, together with his brother Jørgen and sister Gerda, and to keep his mother out of a nursing home. One of Steffen's friends is going to America with his wife and needs money. Steffen takes 500 kroner from the store's cash register. The next day, there is an audit and Steffen's theft is discovered.

The film deals with a fisherman's home on the coast, where everyone one autumn evening sits with their work in the living room.

There is a confusion between comedy treasurer Theodor Jensen and an escaped felon, Gerhardt Müller, both played by Carsten Winger. Nanna Stenersen had the role of Mrs Jensen.

"You can leave your husband behind, but not your suitcase," exclaims the lively 21-year-old Ellen Stenersen. She and Per are left standing on the pier. They are old acquaintances and neighbors in the country. Per doesn't think being a grasshopper is so bad. He and his friend Stoffer throw themselves into the temptations of Oslo. The men are also accompanied by Ellen. Per and Ellen develop warm feelings for each other.

The Market of the Unknowns is a burlesque and socially critical tale of a flea market in Oslo, which is organized for the benefit of slum dwellers in Lima. Based a on novel by Åge Rønning.

Tonny is a school boy in foster care who serves his first sentence in jail. We follow him 24 hours before his parole and 48 hours after his release. We get to see his experiences in prison and his relationship with his mother, friends and girlfriend Kari.

Two police officers lie dead. The swede Ekstrøm and the youngster Gustav flees the scene of the crime. Based on a real double murder in 1926, this movie remained almost unseen for 57 years. When the film was set to premiere in 1950 one of the murderers, having served a full sentence, went to court to have the film stopped.

Moving in with Petter's parents proves impossible, Kari can't endure her mother-in-law's constant interference. Trying to build a house of their own is halted by so much red tape, and affordable rentals is hard to come by. When Kari gets pregnant things doesn't get any easier.

Næss shows outstanding qualities and develops into a star reporter, while Haugen is mediocre. When they have a child together, the question arises as to who should sacrifice their career to stay home with the child. Haugen soon finds himself comfortable in the role of stay-at-home dad.

About the illegal radio station A.K.Y. and the men that operated it in Norway, based in Kristiansand and Oslo, that helped carry the fight against the Nazis in the bleakest days of WW2. The film is based on a true story, and several of those who participated in the real events play themselves.
