In the middle of the Edo Era in Kayamachi near the Sumida River lived a childless couple, Minokichi and his wife O-chou. Minokichi was a master caprenter who worked for a large company called Sugitaya.

Takarazuka Revue Flower Troupe's 2023 adaptation is based on Mérimée's original work "Carmen". This story, set in Spain, depicts Don José, a military noncommissioned officer, who is fascinated by the free-spirited Carmen and falls in love with her.

The beginning of the Heian Era, there was a young nobleman named Ariwara no Narihira serving in various government posts, such as Keeper of the Archives. This gentleman had great poetic ability, a handsome honor, was valorous, and was generally of an open and natural nature. This Narihara meets the beautiful Princess Takaiko, who is working as a dancing girl at one of the imperial flower banquets...

Set in Nara, the seat of power in Japan in the early 8th century. The power of the imperial court has been split into two warring factions, Prince Nagaya who protects the right for imperial rule by direct decent, and the Fujiwara clan who favor giving more power to the clans related to the imperial family. Children of the warring factions, Prince Asukabe, Princess Asukabe and Obito no Miko are friends from a young age. Prince Asukabe and Princess Asukabe rebel against expectations, drawn to each other....

Mayerling is a musical based on the tragic real-life love story of the Crown Prince of Austria-Hungary and Marie Vetsera. Papalagi is a revue show inspired by the book written by Erich Scheurmann. This is the 1993 Star Troupe run recorded at the Takarazuka Grand Theatre, starring Asaji Saki.

EPHEMERAL LOVE: Austria, 1888. Crown Prince Rudolf is bored with the ostentatious royal life in the Austrian court. During a performance of “Hamlet,” Rudolf meets Marie Vetsera, the daughter of Baron Vetsera, the wealthiest man in Vienna. Marie is instantly infatuated with the prince, and they continue meeting in secret. When the emperor learns that Rudolf has petitioned the Pope for a divorce from Princess Stephanie, he flies into a rage and orders Rudolf and Marie to part. Rudolf feels he must make a choice: the throne, or Marie. The time is the Azuchi-Momoyama Period. While Yukariko is a woman, she is by nature masculine and, as she was raised in a family with no heir, she learned general martial arts. Then an unexpected story is told to Yukariko, whose father died suddenly. It is said that because Yukariko is the daughter of the daimyo of Aki, and twins with the current feudal lord, she was given to an adoptive family in secret. As a matter of fact her brother the feudal lord, Midorio, is ill, and in order that the other provinces may not know, she is told that he wants her to serve as his substitute....

Takarazuka Revue's stage play based on Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet.

Takarazuka Cosmos Troupe 2000 production of Utakata no Koi (Translated as Ephemeral Love, also known as Mayerling). Based on the true story of the the doomed love affair between the crown prince of Austria Rudolf and his young mistress, Marie Vetsera.

Count Monteiro, the master of one of the many large, prosperous coffee plantations which ringed São Paulo, had decided to make his son, Antonio, the head of the plantation and return home to Portugal. Antonio was too young to manage the plantation so the Count intended to appoint two trustees of the estate: Julio as manager and Altoul as the family representative.

Takarazuka Cosmos Troupe. The show opens with Robert Jordan being introduced at a charity event . He tells his hostess that he can't join her for the after party, as he is flying first to Paris, and then to Spain to rejoin the Republican forces. He has been going there sporadically, helping as a volunteer sent on commando missions to blow up important military targets (mainly bridges). In Madrid he meets General Golz of military intelligence, who sends him on his most dangerous and critical mission yet, to blow up a bridge in Guadarrama. It is a major hinge of a Republican offensive push, timed to begin in four days.

The setting is Europe in 1938, where signs of the outbreak of World War II begin to cast a shadow over the land. Fearing the fires of war, waves of people seek refuge from all over Europe to Paris, the only remaining city of light. But no one can guess how much longer that light will last. Ravic, a surgeon, is a refugee from Germany making a living in Paris as an unlicensed doctor. On a cold rainy night, Ravic meets a woman who is standing off in a daze, apparently about to jump off Alma Bridge into the River Seine. He rescues her just in time, and inquires about her background although he isn't very interested.

Early in the nineteenth century in Paris, an evening party is held at Martin's residence on rue de la Chaussee d'Antin. Galantine, the residence's owner and widow of Duke Martin, holds a salon which is a social gathering of important people such as famous nobles, artists, and industrialists. At the party, a baron's second son Albert reunites with a count's daughter Vivianne whom he has known since childhood. After the loss of her father and elder brother who had stood against the present government, she was exiled to England along with her mother. However, following the advice of her aunt Galantine, she returned to Paris several years later when the government's vengeance against the opposition had subsided. Vivian and Albert are very delighted at their meeting again after a long interval and enthusiastically talk as if they were filling in the long blank of several years.
