Kokovios and Kavouras become street vendors in Athens to earn a living. They are in love with Annea and Paraskeva, unaware that Paraskeva is a man who disguised himself as a woman in order to get a job as a maid. Mary is afraid to reveal her relationship with prosecutor Nikos Giannidis to her father...

A scientist, inventor of the "ray of life", is found murdered. The perpetrators are Arachne and the inventor's former assistant, Mona. However, the two naive servants of the deceased took the blueprints of his invention with them when they left: Kokkovios and Sparos. Arachne and her gang constantly set traps to extract the coveted paper from the two fools.

Kokovios and his close friend Nikolakis engage in various odd jobs with the hope that they will eventually find success. The kind-hearted Kokovios helps an elderly woman take her paralyzed daughter, Vasso, to Tinos, where the Virgin Mary always performs miracles. On their return to Piraeus, he learns that his father has died and so he becomes the heir to the family business. As he is no longer penniless, he confidently asks for Vasso's hand in marriage, and she agrees. A typical Greek comedy with naive heroes and excessive optimism.
