Kokovios is a kind-hearted and somewhat naive man who, while trying to help those around him, constantly finds himself in trouble.

A notary calls in the office three brothers: Theophrastus, Telis and Kokkovio Karampoumpouna and announces the death of their distant uncle from Chicago, who left their legacy sixty thousand US dollars, provided to start a company together. Telis, the most intelligent, has its own photography and aims, with the help of his fiancée Bubi, eat whole heritage. Two friends Bubi, Mirka and Jenny, are employed, diplaronoun naive and the plan seems to be going well.

Struggling to make ends meet, the talented but still unrecognised artist, Miltos, knows firsthand what's it like to try to live off art alone. Already behind in the rent, Miltos is utterly unaware that he has just inherited a fortune from his long-lost uncle; a piece of vital information only the secretary in the notary's office, and her statuesque friend, Popi, know. Under those circumstances, Popi hatches an ambitious plan, intent on getting her hands on Miltos' money; however, the impecunious painter is head-over-heels in love with Litsa, the beautiful daughter of the neighbourhood's taverner. Kokovios and Kavouras become street vendors in Athens to earn a living. Kokovios and his close friend Nikolakis engage in various odd jobs with the hope that they will eventually find success. On their return to Piraeus, he learns that his father has died and so he becomes the heir to the family business. As he is no longer penniless, he confidently asks for Vasso's hand in marriage, and she agrees. A typical Greek comedy with naive heroes and excessive optimism.

Kokovios and Kavouras pretend to be private detectives, but their naivety results in them messing up the cases they take on. Their latest case is of the utmost secrecy and seriousness. The extremely clumsy detectives must find out if a client's philandering husband really has a mistress and who she is.

As Pelopidas is going around hungry, trying to find something to eat, a misunderstanding makes him seem like a thief. In order to escape his persecutors, he runs trying to hide. He hitchhikes and gets a ride by a truck, whose driver happens to be his fellow villager who knows the runaway’s past. Pelopidas has been working hard since his childhood, but due to his naivety nobody is serious with him. His return to the village where was born gets him mixed up in more trouble.
