A dramatic retelling of Nguyễn Du's epic poem "The tale of Kiều"

At a dance bar, a former soldier and now company director chances upon a hostess whose appearance resembles the young girl that saved his life many years ago in the War.

Trung is a prisoner, guilty for robbery and murder. On the way to a new camp, he plots to escape. He robbed a gun to escape before the police chase. In desperation, Trung jumps into Kim's car. Kim is a solid, beautiful nurse who lives on an isolated farm, owned by a Vietnamese man living overseas. The farm is set up for his son, Hai, a 20-year-old boy who has a particular illness. Kim is responsible for taking care of Hai. Kim drives to the farm, unknowingly carrying Trung. Then a relationship forms between these three strange people. Both Kim and Hai have fallen in love with Trung with all joy, anger, and happiness.

Forced into collaborating with his corrupted bosses, a bank director and his lover start to devise an intricate escape plan in case he gets prosecuted.

A theater troupe reunites in excitement for a new production after having been out of work for a long time, with the performers and their mentor having gone their separate ways to make ends meet. But the bitter fallout from the failed romance between the lead actor and the lead actress—a romance as long ago as her famously beautiful hair—threatens the play's success.

In early 20th century, a Vietnamese aristocratic socialite falls in love with a poor scholar though her father, a powerful governor, is determined to separate them, even with extreme measures.
