There is a subplot in the story, for Meenakshi (Sharmili), a daughter from a rich family; she is the apple of the eye of the family. Meenakshi ran home with her lover Raju, who worked as a driver to her house. He tells that his friend Dinesh will help them. However, Raju escaped because he saw a bad dream where he is killed by her family as if it will happen in reality. Due to that he vanishes. Raghavan understood her plight and helps her.

Based in Kancheepuram, Surya/Arjun makes a living as a con-man on the North Zone, and is assisted by his girlfriend, Baby; while the South side is presided over by Pashupati. Romeo lives a wealthy lifestyle in Bangalore, India, along with his widowed mother. He had received considerable assistance and encouragement from Raj Mohan to dance and sing, and as a result gets very popular with young women. He meets and is attracted to Madhu, who is also his fan. His mother meets with Madhu's grandfather and both arrange their wedding. Then Romeo finds out that Raj Mohan has been stealing body parts, especially kidneys, from patients in the Satya Moorthy Hospital, and then getting them killed via bus accidents. He meets with Raj and warns him that he is going to expose him publicly. Before he could that Romeo is shot, taken by ambulance, and thrown off of a cliff.

Ravi, a Band Master by profession leads a happy and contended life. By destiny he falls in love with the minister Veeraraghavan's daughter Gita. Thereby he unknowingly lands up inviting wrath of the minister in his life. Ravi's arch rival uses this opportunity and plots against Ravi.

Siva lives with his father Soundarapandian, a police officer, and his little sister Geetha. Geetha gets engaged and Siva notes that his father will not invite his family to the wedding. Hence, Siva finds out his family's village and goes there. At his father's village, Siva is insulted by his uncle Sankarapandian, while his aunt Kamachi welcomes him. Soon, Kamachi's daughter Selvi and Siva fall in love with each other. How Siva reconciles his uncle and marries Selvi forms the rest of the story.

Kathirvel comes to the city to live with his friend Subramani. While Reshma is a soft-spoken college student, her mother Gangamma is an heartless lady rowdy. Rahul, a college student, falls in love with Reshma at the first sight. Reshma also loves him but to save Rahul's life, she tries to avoid him. Finally, Reshma accepts his love. Gangamma, knowing their love affair, hurts heavily Rahul in front of Kathirvel and Subramani and they reached Rahul to the nearby hospital. Reshma insults Kathirvel for being passive during the attack and Kathirvel tells his tragic past to Reshma. In the past, Kathirvel was in love with Reshma's sister Meenakshi. They So Gangamma tried to kill Kathirvel but Meenakshi intervened and was accidentally by her mother. Before her death, Kathirvel promised Meenakshi to not kill her mother. Kathirvel is now determined to unite the lovers. What transpires later forms the crux of the story.
