After failing to become a successful concert violinist, Muhammad returned to his rural Uzbekistan village. He says he on holiday and tells exaggerated stories of success, while the truth is completely broke from gambling and deeply in debt. Having borrowed money from his friends, they are now looking for their money back.

Catholic seminary student Soo-hyeon is having a hard time deciding whether to stay on the road to priesthood or give in to his earthly love for a girl named Sue, whom he has just abandoned even though he still loves her. No pain, no gain. This is the motto of the Yoo family: the father is a successful doctor, the mother supervises their daughter's scholastic performance from the vantage point of their beautiful home. Then cracks appear in the facade which soon deepen and spread. Jangwon is declared bankrupt after he is made a victim of fraud by friend Minkyo. While desperately searching for Minkyo who has disappeared, Jangwon hears that another old school friend, Jiyeon, is also looking for him. Jangwon approaches her as he thinks it would make the search for Minkyo easier.
