From his earliest recordings with Roxy Music at the beginning of the 1970s, Bryan Ferry has taken his place as one of the most iconic and innovative musicians and songwriters to emerge in popular music. Ferry s Olympia tour travelled the world in 2011, including this spectacular performance filmed on July 25 at the ancient Roman amphitheatre in Lyon, France as part of the Nuits de Fourviere Festival. The show features tracks from across Ferry s 40 year career including classic Roxy Music songs, solo hits and his renowned interpretations of other writer s material all delivered with the style and panache that is uniquely Bryan Ferry.

Simple Minds performed at Les Nuits de Fourvière in Lyon on July 10, 2024. The band played their album “New Gold Dream” in its entirety, followed by a second set of their greatest hits. The centerpiece of this DVD is a 90-minute concert by Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds, performing live in Lyon, France, in the summer of 2001 during a European tour in support of the album No More Shall We Part. Its mature and emotive textures dominate this show, which means if you're hoping to see Cave whipping himself into a frenzy while Blixa Bargeld rattles the walls with his guitar, well, you're out of luck. However, this footage proves that, in more subtle form, Cave is still a magnetic and compelling performer and that the Bad Seeds have grown into a singularly gifted ensemble who bring just the right amount of drama and force to Cave's superb songs (with guitarist Mick Harvey and violinist Warren Ellis taking top honors at this performance). Beautifully shot, intelligently edited, and boasting crisp and full-bodied audio, God Is in the House is a fine document of Cave and his collaborators on a good night.

With their performance of “Gesualdo Passione” at the Nuits de Fourvière, choreographer Amala Dianor and Les Arts Florissants, conducted by Paul Agnew, strike up a dialogue between hip-hop dance and Baroque music that is as unexpected as it is captivating.
