Arrested while a student in university, Yusuf is released from prison after ten years. He returns home and is welcomed by his sick and elderly mother. Meanwhile, the construction of one of the hydroelectric power plants (HPP) causing intense discussions in the region, next to a river flowing through the village, becomes a hot issue on the village's agenda. The villagers are against this construction and the fight begins. "Bizum Hoca" finds himself leading the villagers who started the protests.

He learned everything he knows about religious scholarship from his father, Ahmet Fevzi Hoca, an Islamic scholar. After losing his wife Makbule, Bizum Hoca has not let anyone into his life and is a person whom everyone consults for advice. A cheerful and jovial individual, the teacher also focuses on the spirituality of the Islamic faith. He teaches his congregation that being a moral and conscientious person is as important and universal a value as worship. However, there are those in the congregation who do not agree with what Bizum Hoca says.

Feridun, Cahit, and Tamer managed to get their hands on the national lottery ticket. Now they have money. While looking for an alternative route, they will encounter all kinds of problems.
