The Space Between Us

Sasha, the younger daughter living in the Canadian countryside, welcomes her family to her home after they have recently escaped Ukraine after the outbreak of war. The tension between her family members gradually builds until things reach breaking point.

When Sylvie's Dad moves in with them due to his worsening Alzheimer's, the line between past and present blurs as haunting events unfold in their home.

Through dreamy textures and thermal imaging, the film hums with quiet longing, lost signals, and the strange intimacy of distance.

An intimate, observational portrait unfolds as an actor prepares to perform a new work, while interrogating the process of shaping one’s persona and truly embodying a character.

In search of independence, a young woman moves out of her childhood home and into a place of her own. But independence comes with a cost as she navigates her decaying relationships in the looming presence of an encroaching spore invasion. A coming-of-age story tinged with climate anxiety, inspired by the real-life environmental catastrophes hitting the Pacific Northwest, including heat waves, floods, and (impending) earthquakes.
