Aranzazú, a memory of ruins

Julio, a young man with few social skills, meets Mara, a girl with whom he shares a weakness for robbing other people's houses.

A rural boy comes back to his town to discover that nothing is as it used to be.

The film centers around the drama of Karina, the sole survivor of a series of brutal murders, however, she has lost her memory due to the trauma she endured. With the intention of discovering the author of the masacre, she initiates an investigation that will lead her to uncover more secrets.

In 2010, the mining company Tayahua, from Carlos Slim, began the eviction of 150 families from the Salaverna community in Zacatecas, with the intention of starting an open-air mining project. More than 100 families are evicted, but 35 decided to stay. It’s been three years and the families that stayed has to take the pressure from the company and the government, who are looking to expel them.
