Ramón, an egocentric and successful film producer, is only interested in money and women. Shortly after receiving a Goya for his latest film, he learns that his friend Enrique, a forgotten actor who is going through a rough patch, needs help. He has contacted Faby, an undocumented Peruvian waitress who works in the slum where Enrique has felt ill. Fascinated by the girl, Ramón decides to solve her problems, marrying her to Enrique.

In 1938, at the height of the civil war, the musicians of the military band were very worried about their next concert. She then decides to ask permission to go and help her, but as Lieutenant Urquiza refuses, she escapes. Two companions sent to bring him back, finally, stay with him. Also Sergeant Perez and several musicians who go looking for him stay with them.

The old priest tries to apply in his environment what he has seen in the parish model, setting off a chain of events.
