The Secret Policeman's Ball 2008 was a show in the "Secret Policeman's Balls" series of benefit shows for Amnesty International. Like its immediate predecessor, the show was a single-night event at London's Royal Albert Hall, on Saturday 4 October 2008. The 3-hour event was video-taped and a 95-minute television special adapted from the show was broadcast the following day, on Britain's Channel Four. There was also a "cinecast" in which the Royal Albert Hall event was shown live in 35 cinemas in major British cities.

Russell’s forensic trawl through newspapers, websites and TV shows provides a lively, topical and entertaining combination of stand-up, clips and sketches. From the weeks hot news topics to the quirkier stories that may not have hit the headlines, Russell’s unique viewpoint never fails to amuse.

If you've ever wondered how 'Mock the Week' would look in a world without censors, then wonder no more. This exclusive DVD contains three specially expanded episodes with all the smut put back in and an even more outrageous sixty minute reel of completely new "too hot" material. See Dara, Frankie, Russell, Andy and Hugh go further than ever before with star guests like Ed Byrne, Rhod Gilbert and David Mitchell joining in the misbehaviour.

Self-deprecating comic Russell Howard plows ahead through politics, porn, social media and his own shortcomings. Yet he somehow keeps it positive.

Recorded at Brighton Dome as part of his twice extended sell-out Dingledodies tour (which played to over 125,000 people), the show sees the star of Mock the Week (BBC Two) and Russell Howard’s Good News (BBC Three) share his observations on life. Packed with his trademark mix of eloquent gags and deft storytelling this is the critically acclaimed show from one of the hottest names in stand-up.
