Robinson Ekspeditionen is a popular Danish reality television program debuting in 1998. In the spring of 1998 TV3 purchased the broadcast rights to air their own version of Expedition Robinson. Following the success of the Swedish version, Denmark was the first country to adopt their own version of the show. The show has proven to be a ratings success since its premiere in 1998. The name alludes to both Robinson Crusoe and The Swiss Family Robinson, two stories featuring people marooned by shipwrecks.

Robinsonekspedisjonen is a popular Norwegian reality television program debuting in 1999. In the of fall 1998 TV3 purchased the broadcast rights to air their own version of Expedition Robinson. Norway was one of the first countries to adopt the Robinson format following its success in both Sweden and Denmark. While it has never achieved as high of ratings as that of Denmark and Sweden's versions of the show, it is still considered a ratings success. Following a two year hiatus after the VIP season with Denmark and Sweden, Robinsonekspedisjonen returned in 2007 and has seen a season over season ratings growth since.

The South African edition of the Survivor reality television game show format in which contestants are isolated in a remote location and progressively eliminated by the vote of their fellow contestants.

A reality show contest where sixteen or more castaways split between two or more “Tribes” are taken to a remote isolated location and are forced to live off the land with meager supplies for roughly 39 days. Frequent physical challenges are used to pit the tribes against each other for rewards, such as food or luxuries, or for “Immunity”, forcing the other tribe to attend “Tribal Council”, where they must vote off one of their players.

The Big Breakfast was a British light entertainment television show shown on Channel 4 and S4C each weekday morning from 28 September 1992 until 29 March 2002 during which period 2,482 shows were produced. The Big Breakfast was produced by Planet 24, the production company co-owned by former Boomtown Rats singer and Live Aid organiser Bob Geldof. The programme was distinctive for broadcasting live from former lockkeepers' cottages commonly referred to as "The Big Breakfast House", or more simply, "The House", located on Fish Island, in Bow in east London. The show was a mix of news, weather, interviews, audience phone-ins and general features, with a light tone which was in competition with the more serious GMTV and even more serious BBC breakfast programmes.

Fourteen to eighteen contestants have to survive on an uninhabited island for 40 days (20 days in the special editions). It's up to them to find food to accompany the meagre ration of rice provided at the start of the adventure. They have to build a shelter to protect themselves from the elements (bad weather, insects, etc.) and maintain the fire that they managed to build or that they won in the first comfort test.

Survivor România is a Romanian reality game show based on the international Survivor format. The season premiered on 18 January 2020 on Kanal D. Following the basic premise of other international versions of the format, it features a group of contestants who are marooned in an isolated location, where they must provide food, water, fire, and shelter for themselves. The contestants compete in challenges for rewards and immunity from elimination. The contestants are progressively eliminated from the game until only one remains and is given the title of "Sole Survivor" and awarded the grand prize. The first two seasons's "Sole Survivor" received the prize of €50.000. By the third season, the prize for the winner got bumped up to €100.000.

18 people, carefully selected from across the UK, are marooned in a tropical location where they are divided into two tribes, competing against each other in a range of physical and mental challenges for reward or immunity. One by one, players are voted out of their tribes at the iconic Tribal Council until the two tribes eventually merge and the game becomes a head-to-head battle. Ultimately only one person can triumph, winning the cash prize of £100,000 and the title of Sole Survivor.

Survivor BG is the Bulgarian version of the reality show Survivor, broadcast and produced by bTV.

Expedition Robinson is a Swedish reality television program in which contestants are put into survival situations, and a voting process eliminates one person each episode until a winner is determined. The format was developed in 1994 by Charlie Parsons for a United Kingdom TV production company called Planet 24, but the Swedish debut in 1997 was the first production to actually make it to television.
