Living together in a workers' dorm, Katerina and her friends are determined to make it in Moscow. A resident of Magadan, Ukladova, was robbed in a Moscow alley. She claims that she was hit on the head with a hammer and robbed of a large amount of money by a taxi driver. The investigator finds a taxi driver who has already been imprisoned for hooliganism. All the facts are against the suspect, but he does not confess. People who knew him convince him that the guy is not capable of such a crime. Ukladova, however, recognizes the taxi driver in a confrontation.

Upset by the failure, Gvozdev meets Zina in a bar and unwittingly finds himself drawn into the circle of misfortunes of a former variety show dancer (as she introduced herself to him).

In this farcical dark comedy/melodrama, Lena manages to lose her place at college by virtue of throwing a minor hissy-fit when she catches her erstwhile boyfriend in bed with another girl. Instead of penalizing the boy for his behavior, Lena gets stuck with a court appearance and must pay a small fine, in addition to losing a boyfriend, her college career, and an apartment. Lena belongs to a film club which occasionally hands out awards, and the membership of it decides to send her into the Russian hinterlands to hand out an award to an obscure filmmaker. Throughout the film, Lena has been associated with a bizarre con man named Stepanych who, when his cons fall through, comes to her in the distant town she has gone to seeking her help in committing suicide.

After returning from the USSR, Tulyev was subjected to rigorous verification of his former "owners". He continues his work in Western intelligence, but already as a Soviet intelligence officer through the First Main Directorate of the KGB of the USSR. In a new capacity, he establishes the whereabouts of Hitler’s criminal Hoffmann, who was once sentenced to death, and helps the authorities arrest him. However, as a result of the conflict within NATO intelligence, Charlie Brighton, Hoffman's assistant, begins to hunt for him. At the same time, Tulyev manages to establish the identity of the murderer of his father, Karl Brockmann, with whom they crossed in the service of mercenaries somewhere in hot countries. He wants revenge, but, by an evil irony of fate, he must help prepare Brockmann for being cast as a spy in the Soviet Union.

A love story between a mythical Russian minister and an opportunist TV series actress.

Fitil is a popular Soviet/Russian television satirical/comedy short film series which ran for about 500 episodes. Some of the episodes were aimed at children, and were called Фитилёк, Fitilyok, Little Fuse. Each issue contained from the few short segments: documentary, fictional and animated ones. Directed by various artists, including Leonid Gaidai who presented his famous trio of Nikulin, Vitsin and Morgunov into the cast. It was called in USSR as "the anecdotes from the Soviet government".

The detective story is based on the search for Antonio Stradivari’s missing violin. An additional historical storyline takes the viewer back to the 17th century and focuses on the life of the Master and his work on the violin.
