Because of their three beautiful daughters, Hederl, Haiderl, and Hannerl, the property is called the "Three Girls' House." Hederl and Haiderl celebrate a double wedding with the gentlemen, master saddler Bruneder and postmaster Binder. Due to an intrigue by soprano Lucia Grisi, Hannerl, with whom Schubert is in love but dares not reveal herself, turns away from him and marries singer Franz von Schober. Schubert is left with nothing but music.

He receives a lavish welcome and, at 34, is probably one of the oldest students in German film history. He has three fathers who support him financially and studies on their money. Interminably. Now he has to accept that his fathers have run out of money for his studies. So he rolls up his sleeves, forgets about the expensive degree, and switches to a trade. He does hair, he drives, he assembles film, he shaves, and he pins seams. There he meets a young lady, has time to serenade her, and then learns that his biological father is a millionaire, who now lends him a hand and distributes cash to the other cash-strapped fathers.

Bambi

The Bambi, often called the Bambi Award and stylised as BAMBI, is a German award presented annually by Hubert Burda Media to recognize excellence in international media and television to personalities in the media, arts, culture, sports, and other fields "with vision and creativity who affected and inspired the German public that year", both domestic and foreign. First held in 1948, it is the oldest media award in Germany. The trophy is named after Felix Salten's book Bambi, A Life in the Woods and its statuettes are in the shape of the novel's titular fawn character. They were originally made of porcelain until 1958, when the organizers switched to using gold, with the casting done by the art casting workshop of Ernst Strassacker in Süßen.
