C. V. Sridhar (22 July 1933 – 20 October 2008) was an Indian screenwriter and film director. He has directed nearly 60 films in Tamil, Hindi and Telugu. Sridhar hailed from Chitthamur, a village near Madurantakam, Tamil Nadu. He studied at St. Joseph's Higher Secondary School, where he began writing and staging plays while he was in the Seventh Standard.

Manase Mandiram (English: The Heart is a Temple) is a 1966 Telugu language romantic drama film, produced by Yarra Appa Rao on Sri Krishna Sai Films banner and directed by C. V. Sridhar. Starring Akkineni Nageswara Rao, Savitri in the lead roles and music composed by M. S. Viswanathan. The film was a remake of Tamil film Nenjil Or Aalayam (1962), Sridhar remade the film in Hindi as Dil Ek Mandir (1963). It was also remade in Malayalam as Hridayam Oru Kshethram (1976), and in Kannada as Kumkuma Rakshe (1977).

Chandru (Sivaji Ganesan) has a sister (Rajam) who is married to a handsome Ravi (Balaji). But her in-laws insist on a diamond necklace, without which she cannot join her husband. So, Chandru steals a diamond necklace with a locket and then his sister joins her husband. He and his mother (Shanthakumari) move to Madras where he finds a job in a company owned by a wealthy man (Ranga Rao). He falls in love with his daughter (Saroja Devi). One day, the necklace falls down and the locket opens, revealing a photograph of a young man. The husband and the others at home want to know who the person is. She says she has never seen him. But suspecting the worst, she is sent back to her parental home.
