When it comes to crime, Belgrade is same as any other modern metropolis, except for having its own serial killers. That blank is filled when a flower salesman begins strangling women. A popular, but very disturbed rock star soon becomes telepathically connected with the killer.

I Even Met Happy Gypsies

The protagonist, Bora, is a charming but mean-spirited gypsy, while his older wife, Lence, is submissive. Bora is in love with the younger Tisa, who is being offered in marriage by her father. The two get themselves in trouble and eventually have to flee. Tisa rejects her husband and she and Bora get married in the church, and their adventures continue.

At 56 years of age Mita Pantic is still only a junior clerk in his company. Another typical workday for him is starting at 6 a.m. as frustration awaits at every turn from the moment he gets up. Trying to get ready to go to work, he can barely get a turn to use the bathroom in the crowded apartment. Other members of the household are not without their frustrations either, meaning that nagging and shouting are a staple of their home life at any time of day.

At dawn, one girl commits suicide, one of his friends is taken by military police, the rest are seriously shook up by events. Coming back from police station, he finds a message from Subotica asking him to come back for work...

Uncle Vanya

A retired professor returns to his estate with his beautiful young wife Yelena. For many years the brother (Uncle Vanya) has sent the farm's proceeds to the professor, while receiving only a small salary himself. The professor's daughter Sonya, who is about the same age as his new wife, also lives on the estate. The professor is pompous, vain, and irritable, and calls Dr. Astrov to treat his gout, then sends him away without seeing him. Astrov is an experienced physician who performs his job conscientiously, but has lost all idealism and spends much of his time drinking. Yelena's presence introduces a bit of sexual tension into the household: Astrov and Uncle Vanya fall in love with her and she spurns them both.

The Departure of Damjan Radovanovic

The script is inspired by a true event from the Second World War: an appeal to the Serbian people to collaborate with the occupier. Each of the characters decides according to the appeal inherent in his being and his personality. In this case, the basic conflict is between father and son.

Grey Home

What finally remains is a perpetual dilemma whether their fate is innate, or is it forced by the communities in which they grew up...

Balkan Express 2

TV series made as an extended version of an eponymous feature film. A quintet of small-time crooks that works under disguise of a musical band become the supporters of Partisan resistance movement in WW2. Being forced to escape to another part of the occupied territory, they hide in "Marlene Saloon" forgetting that the bordellos of the kind are an ideal place for espionage during the war. They get more problems than peace and rest and the tragicomedy starts.

The Unpicked Strawberries

Grlom u jagode is a 1975 Yugoslavian TV miniseries directed by Srđan Karanović and co-written by Karanović and Rajko Grlić. Depicting the life and times of a young man nicknamed Bane Bumbar, the series achieved huge popularity throughout SFR Yugoslavia. Revolving around Bane, his family, and his circle of friends, the series also portrays 1960s Belgrade, Serbia and Yugoslavia.

Funny peasant granny moves from her village to Belgrade with her grandson so he can finish elementary school in the city. The clash between the human, rural, and honest and the depraved, false, and petty-bourgeois is inevitable.

The Pillow of My Grave

Trieste in 1807. Dositej Obradovic, founder of modern Serbian literature and the minister of education, goes through a creative and spiritual decline because of love of a young woman. Despite his old age, he can't resist this strong emotional flame, and subsequently travels to Belgrade following his agreement to be the leader of the Serbian uprising against the Ottoman Empire.
