Stavros Tsiolis

Twelve-year-old Vasilis escapes the orphanage, wanders a while in the capital and then takes the train for his hometown, Tripolis. As he wanders through the mountains of Arcadia, he meets a girl whose car has broken down. They become friends and spend the summer together, until Vasilis returns to his grandmother's house, which he finds abandoned and in ruin. The girl disappears, and Vasilis, deserted and alone, takes the road to Tripolis, where, in order to make ends meet, he performs odd jobs. On the day celebrating his patron saint, however, he abandons the city and takes the road back to his village.

When the painter Nasos Karnezis is found dead and the police arrests Floras, the stockbroker Dimitris, his son from his first marriage, decides to find out who the real murderer is. Along with a tow of his friends, reporter Makris and the politician Delios research the case and they suspect Myrto, daughter of captain Kapsis who was executed by the Germans during the years of Occupation, after Karnezis had turned him in. Dimitris and Myrto, whose innocent has become clear in the meantime, fall in love with each other.

This classic Greek comedy revolves around the constant fights between Zikos who works as a clerk at a small grocer's shop and the shop's owner. Zikos just can't keep his mouth shut every time his boss behaves as being an aristocrat. Things go even worse when Zikos finds out that his boss, by taking advantage of his wealth and with the help of the local match-maker, is planning to marry a young poor girl living in the same neighborhood.

A young doctor shall investigate the newcomer. When they meet, they immediately recognize each other. It is Giorgos, the doctor that treated Stefania's mother a couple of years ago, and then had a little flirt with Stefania. He has been thinking of her ever since. He immediately falls in love with her, and wants to help her. Stefania is thinking about any possibility to get out from the prison. She flirts with the ugly yard guard Armandos, and with the truck driver coming with foodstuff, but in vain...

A sociology professor going through a mid-life crisis resigns from his job, abandons his family and lives isolated in his country house. His only incentive for living is the faded face of an unknown girl in a photograph he had taken in the past and whom he now starts looking for.

In the course of the summer three brothers-in-law at a crucial age become involved in ephemeral romantic adventures in the area of Lake Volvi while their families vacation on the island of Thassos and… can wait.
