An elegiac arrives in the village of Lipovec and is greeted with singing and dancing by all the local officials and ordinary citizens, as this coveted expert is to help them increase their hectare yields with his progressive methods. Julien becomes extremely jealous when he suspects Diane of having a lesbian affair with a ballet dancer. His incessant questions and insane jealousy make Diane resentful to the point she considers pushing him off a cliff.

A baleful limping man walks through Prague. He is Asmodeus (Juraj Herz), the fiend of lustfulness, entertaining himself by putting together by magic couples of lovers. He only fails at the swimming pool. Zuzana (Jana Sulcová), the good-looking blonde, ignores the men whom the devil foists off onto her. She loves Honza (Václav Neckár) and the boy shares her feelings. The fiend is annoyed by the couple and tries to provoke a row. He sends heavy rain to force them into a hotel and then warns Zuzana's father by phone, but the young lovers manage to get out in time. Then the obstinate Asmodeus takes Honza in his sleep to the Institute for Emotional Disorders, where he shows him the ugly sides of love - hysteria, voyeurism, fetishism, suicide attempts...

Kuba and Amálka love each other, but Kuba doesn't want to get married yet, which makes Amálka a little sad. When Kuba learns from her that their pear tree is producing pears with long ears, he immediately gets an idea on how to make money from them. From that moment on, a real mess begins. Amálka does break the spell on the long-eared hunter when she gives him a real kiss, thinking it's Kuba. But then Kuba lets the cuckold princess taste the magic apple. Amálka is angry with Kuba and who knows if she'll help him this time. But - what if the cuckold princess really had Kuba's head cut off, as she threatens, and Amálka would lose her groom?
