In ancient Judea, a Jewish aristocrat opposing Roman occupation of his homeland reunites with his childhood friend, now a Roman commander — setting in motion a saga of betrayal, adventure, tragedy, revenge, and faith.

In this Franco-Italian gangster parody, a shopkeeper on his way to an Italian holiday suffers a crash that totals his car. The culprit can only compensate his ruined trip by driving an American friend's car from Naples to Bordeaux, but as it happens to be filled with such contraband as stolen money, jewelry and drugs, the involuntary and unwitting companions in crime soon attract all but recreational attention from the "milieu".

Actually, Guida gets to demonstrate a few comic styling of her own as a bohemian theater "actress" who lives in cramped apartment with a whole bunch of other clothing-averse bohemian types. She is very devoted to her older beau Buzzanca, but his life is very complicated due to his own devotion to his very big and very old dog, the ironically named "Piccolo" (basically "Tiny"), and his even older grandmother. In order to take care of these two dependents, he forsakes his loyal girlfriend for a rich female pharmacist (Andrea Ferriola) and moves in with her and her haughty bourgeois mother and aunts--with disastrous results for all involved.

Four extraterrestrials, X-1, X-2, X-3 and X-4, arrive on Earth in the early sixties. Here they decide to take on human features to study the terrestrials incognito, but end up getting involved in the Roman "dolce vita".

The drama, produced by Rai Fiction and Albatross Entertainment, is composed of a total of 15 episodes of 100 minutes each, the first of which debuted Sunday, October 17, 2010 in prime time on Rai 1. On 21 October 2012, the fiction back in prime time on Rai 1, with the second season, set in the early '900, tell through the evolution of the love story of Andrea and Elena, the emigration of many Italians, especially Maremma, to South America. The project combines the director Cinzia TH Torrini and screenwriter Peter Exacoustos after the success of the series Elisa di Rivombrosa.
