The 13-year-old Ludwig is to have for every joke. At boarding school he cuts his stern teacher, Captain a. D. Semmelmaier, during the nap from the beard. The angry pedagogue then sends the spoiled flail back to his beloved Bavarian village. The long-suffering mother persuades the rector to resume her reforming boy at the Latin school. Everything seems to be working out for the better, but the upcoming marriage of his sister Ännchen with the Berlin beer brewer Karl Schultheiss presents Ludwig with new challenges.

The rich and fun-loving brewery owner Xaver Bogenrieder has died. After the funeral, the mourners come to the pub for the funeral feast. The first trouble is already inevitable: It's all about the succession to the Unterbräu and which of the dignitaries will court the beautiful widow. The master brewer, who has long been a silent admirer of the widow, doesn't like this at all. Then the shepherd gives him an idea. The Unterbräu simply has to go around as a ghost, then the false admirers will stay away. Unfortunately, the gravedigger has the same idea, without the one knowing about the other.

Xaver Bogenrieder, landlord of the Unterbräu, is laid to rest. At the funeral feast, the pretty widow Wally is courted by the pharmacist, the post office secretary and the professor. Now the brewmaster, who has long been a silent admirer of the widow, sees his moment. To show Wally who really loves her, he hatches a spooky plan together with the shepherd Sixtus. The deceased bridegroom must go around as a ghost, then the false suitors will stay away. Unfortunately, the gravedigger has the same idea, without the one knowing about the other. From then on, the small community has no peace, because it is haunted...

Thomas Stangassinger may be the farmer on the farm, but his wife Stasi is the master of the house. However, major complications only arise when the two sons Sepp and Toni fall in love with the same girl. Königlich Bayerisches Amtsgericht is a German comedy television series. It was produced by ZDF in the years 1968 to 1972 and contains 52 episodes. It is set in the German Empire shortly before World War I and revolves around the court proceedings of the Königlich Bayrisches Amtsgericht in the fictional Bavarian small town Geisbach. Almost all actors speak with a Bavarian dialect. The series features many famous Bavarian actors like Gustl Bayrhammer, Hans Baur and Max Grieser.
