Lost movie.

The end of the 1920s. The capitalist world is in crisis. The fascists unleash war against the Soviet Union. The enemy attack interrupts the peaceful labor of Soviet people. Hundreds of production workers join the Red Army. At the front go Red Army units, columns of tanks, units of the people's militia. Enemy airplanes appear over the Soviet city, black bomb bursts are rising. The streets are moving mournful funeral processions of the first victims of the war. At the end of the movie, a worker appears on the screen, appealing to the audience to be ready for the war, which has not yet come, but will come “maybe tomorrow"

Plant director Nazarov and engineer Petrov are constantly at odds with each other. Both dream of taking a vacation so they can spend some time apart. As it happens, they end up in the same mountaineering group. Petrov turns out to be the leader. It took the rigors of group life and considerable difficulties for Nazarov to understand how courageous, humane, and wholehearted Petrov is.

The film is about the industrial relations between the old and young generations of workers. The old master Korzhov hides his professional knowledge from the youth. This provokes criticism from the young worker Pavel. The relationship deteriorates after Korzhov's daughter secretly marries Pavel...

The film uses motifs from V. Mayakovsky's script "Как поживаете?" - about the struggle against philistinism in everyday life.
