Still he's a thorn in the side of the Nazi chiefs, since he's not as unscrupulous as they want him and is known to criticize their ideology.

A sudden change occurs when her boss organizes a fashion show in the department store. He personally selects a group of female employees and sales assistants to appear as mannequins. Inge is praised for her figure and appearance and is even allowed to present the wedding dress at the end of the fashion show. Wolfgang wants to surprise her after the fashion show: he has also bought a motorcycle for her (on credit). Inge is short-tempered, however, as she and the other mannequins have been invited to a party at his house after the fashion show by the well-off Günther...

When he calls the young psychiatrist Dr. Spinelski for help, Lisa acts, as if she believes he is her husband; and as part of the therapy, Spinelski makes sure that Lisa gets everything she wants. Finally, Lisa comes to the conclusion that she'd rather have her real husband and so pretends to fall for him, whereupon they start a new life together. I'll remember to try that the next time I'm not allowed to buy some beer.

In a transport museum, the items on display begin to tell their stories. Most interesting is the history of the Pullman car. In the beginning, it served as transport for a princely family; then became the headquarters car for the military high command; and then, most adventurous of all, it ended up with a circus. Converted to a bar, it finally had its day and was supposed to serve as a placard carrier. Luckily, the museum saved it from this sad fate.

It can hardly be said that things are peaceful in the Berlin apartment building where the film's story takes place. There are constant clashes between the residents – and sometimes that's quite literal: for example, when the widow Bock hid some explosives among the bricks, which detonated when the building's thieving doorman lit them in his stove.

During a weekend trip in the car, the colleagues grow closer, but Veronika also gets into serious trouble. To cover up a tear in her dress, she borrowed a valuable fur coat from the department store, which she intended to return on Monday. However, the theft is noticed, and Veronika has to justify herself to her boss, Tutzinger. When Paul arrives to defend Veronika, Tutzinger realizes that the two are in love—and makes sure that they can be happy together.
