Konrad, his sister Nina, and their friend Ito drift through the eastern Mediterranean in search of drugs, moving between decaying ports and shabby hotels. They steal, deal and sell their bodies to survive, while emotionally detached Konrad remains seemingly untouched by the increasingly destructive life around them.

Kino Classics and Lobster Films celebrate the legacy of Max Linder, a pioneer of comedy whom Charlie Chaplin referred to as "the great master." With his trademark silk top hat and cane, the French-born Linder blended slapstick with sophistication, and invested his films with a layer of cleverness that elevated them above mere knockabout comedies, paving the way for such multi-dimensional screen comedians as Chaplin, Buster Keaton, and Harold Lloyd. Think of a really nice person, a friend of yours, someone who could never hurt a fly. Imagine finding out that he is supposed to have killed someone. You're told that he has shot a person in a bar, for no obvious reason. He has already confessed. He says the murder was planned. He expects a life sentence. He even longs for it. He wants to pay for his crime. The psychiatrist cannot see any mental illness. People around him don't think him to be evil. They like him. They want to help him and protect him from himself. And they all ask the same question: Why....?

Dölken, Ivo and Sichel, three amiable and harmless inmates of a mental asylum are off to spend the summer in an open institution in the country. The trip they have been looking forward to for so long ends abruptly when the driver of their bus suffers a heart attack. The three men quite naturally assume that they have reached their destination and find somewhere to stay in the nearest village.

After twenty unsuccessful years, pop singer Harry Kuntz has landed a hit: a remake of Lehár's "Your is my whole heart" catapulted him to the top of the charts. While Harry basks in his sudden fame, his brother and manager Tommy's dream of wealth is just around the corner. A car breakdown on a stormy night leads the brothers to a remote house. Harry is once again playing the sexual daredevil and thinks he's having success with his pick-me-up. A fatal error. Suddenly, the two brothers find themselves in a nightmare from which there is no escape.
