On September 1st, 1939, Nazi Germany invades Poland, unleashing World War II. On September 17th, the Soviet Red Army crosses the border. The Polish army, unable to fight on two fronts, is defeated. Hanka Ordonówna is a star of pre-war Polish cabarets. The film begins in 1942 in the Middle East, in a British military camp located near the front line. Hanka runs a shelter for homeless Polish children. In her moments of respite, the singer, who is suffering from tuberculosis, recalls the various stages of her career.

This idea does not appeal to his business partner. On top of all this, Tomasz has an accident and is taken hostage by enthusiasts of the wine he produces.

Further fate of Dzidzius Górkiewicz, the protagonist of Andrzej Munk's film "Eroica". After retiring, Górkiewicz moved to a small town near Warsaw. After years filled with doing numerous, not always clean businesses, he leads a quiet, honest life of a provincial. A group of local businessmen see him as an ideal candidate for the new mayor. Gorkiewicz himself is undecided about what to do. Then he dreams of a meeting of the municipal council, where he wants to present his program.

4 Alternative Street was a Polish comedy TV show that was finished in 1983 and aired in 1986 due to censorship. Many famous Polish actors appeared in the series. The filming location used in the mini series was a residential complex which is still in existence at 3 Grzegorzewska Street in Warsaw, Poland. The series was a satire to the communist rule in Poland, spoken in a way that it passed through communist censorship office.
