This film tells the story about a young man, Irving, who returns to the house where he grew up - just after the death of his father, whose reputation got destroyed by the suicide of a young woman he had an affair with. Irving left his small-town home a long time ago, after breaking off relations with his father, who was capable of all kinds of wrongdoing. In particular, Irving's old man got a girl pregnant and didn't even begin to do the right thing by her. Now that the old coot is dead and he is the sole heir, Irving has come back to town determined to right past wrongs, and see to it that the girl's family benefits from his legacy. The young man soon gets obsessed by the house and the past of his dad...

Only with the help of Edit, his friend's grandmother, who recognizes Jan as her old childhood sweetheart, can the property be won as a playground. Soon, the beloved playground is in danger of being lost not only to a rival youth gang, but also to Julia, Janos' ex-wife. She has big construction plans for the property. The leader of the "Boys of Paul Street" is Boka. His father is a gambler and cannot fight his addiction. One day, Boka has to watch as his father narrowly escapes death in a duel. Maicol's mother Anita (Sabina Regazzi) is distracted by too many concerns to pay him much mind, so Maicol (Simone Tessarolo) seeks fulfillment in his inner life, which is very busy and rich. The five year-old has made a world for himself populated by situations and people from the movie Dune, and anything he says to anyone is unlikely to refer to anything else. When his unmarried working mother takes him with her to the train station for her rendezvous with her lover, he occupies himself during their long wait by exploring everthing in sight. Unused to dealing with anything but his fantasy life, after he gets himself lost he is of no help to the police in their search for his mother.

Fried Crumbed Brains

After a big car accident, caused by his brother Valerio, Antonio is mentally-ill, fallen to a childlike regression. They live together in Trieste. Valerio is totally absorbed by his job and by looking after Antonio that call him Papà (Daddy). One day Valerio decide to have a trip on a house-boat with Marianna, his fiancée, and they bring Antonio with them. Antonio unexpectedly drives the boat far away till it gets stuck on a sandbank. Valerio leaves his brother and Marianna alone on the boat and goes searching for help. A storm obliges the two to spend a night together on an island. During that night Marianna discovers, step by step, the poetic and childish world of Antonio, starting to appreciate the different resources of mentally handicapped persons.

Upon hearing the news, just before they reach the partisans, the three carabinieri choose to surrender to honor the role of the carabinieri as guarantors of legality and justice, thus saving the lives of the ten hostages.
