A romantic melodrama

Soledad is a famous singer who, one fine day, decides to turn her life around and enter a convent to help others. The press and her family are baffled: now, the great figure of Spanish singing has become Sister María de la Asunción and works caring for the sick in a hospital that has serious financial problems. At first, everything is difficult, but the intrepid nun manages to get ahead through courage and generosity.

Carmen, a young Sevillian woman who wants to succeed on the radio, arrives at a decrepit station that goes through bad times. Thanks to her, the radio station will get a much quoted prize.

Fearing that her niece Rosita will abandon her true love and enter into a marriage of convenience, doña Juanita tells her the story of when, many years ago, she fell in love with an accountant who worked in a circus.

Love is impossible between Manolo, a flamenco singer, and Lola, a flamenco dancer. She leaves for America to forget him and he gives himself to alcohol. Still, the love between them is so strong that it unites them across the ocean.

The young daughter of the Count of Aubanel, beautiful and kind-hearted, is loved by all her father's vassals; but she is cruelly mistreated by her stepmother and stepsister.

The creative and ambitious Carlos, a young Spanish film buff, manages to become a professional camera operator with time and effort, and is also blessed with the love of Ana, which he has longed for; but the outbreak of the Civil War in 1936 changes everything for both of them.
