The film is essentially a feature-length commercial for an exhibition to mark the 40th anniversary of the nationalisation of the Czechoslovak film industry, to be held at the Prague U Hybernu venue. The protagonists of the piece are comedians Oldrich Kaiser and Jirí Lábus, who are set to accept an award from Japanese television representatives at the exhibition. At the same time, five gangsters plot to seize a revolutionary invention devised by professor Suzuki - a super holograph, which enables any figure from television to be transported in the flesh into the real world, and vice-versa.

Shortly after the Velvet Revolution, everyone becomes an entrepreneur. The fields of business vary. Whether they are legal forms or, on the contrary, organized crime. Young student Nancy arrives in Prague for an internship. She has Czech roots, which is why she chose Prague. Together with journalist Egon and former police officer, now private detective Poldou, they search for a kidnapped 16-year-old girl. Her father is desperate, and even the police are unable to help him. Their search leads them to a Roma gang of prostitution and pornography traffickers who will stop at nothing.

Set in Prague during the years leading up to World War II, this family saga tells the story of a cobbler named Vincenc Bursik (Vladimir Mensik), who uproots his clan from the country to the city, only to suffer the loss of his wife and the failure of his shoe business within months. When his daughter moves away to go live with a wealthy businessman as his mistress, Vincenc is left to take care of his two sons, who spend their days in a secret garden vying for the affections of a teenage girl.

Even after twelve years, Štěpán, Kendy, and Karas have remained true to themselves. They are inseparable friends with an inexhaustible sense of humor and a knack for self-irony, albeit with a slight touch of skepticism.

Markéta and Honza are a loving and beloved royal couple. The cunning princess Eufrozína beguiles Lucifer with her charm and, with the help of seven-league boots, flees from hell with her father to reunite with King Brambas and deprive Honza of his throne. Forest engineer Ivan fell in love with scientist Julie. After their wedding, they bought a guesthouse in the heart of the picturesque Šumava Mountains, where they moved in with Julie's 16-year-old daughter Kačka and her dachshund Hugo. However, Ivan and Julie are primarily focused on having a child and neglect the running of the guesthouse. Julie falls into despair and begins visiting the charlatan Kallvíni, who is supposed to help her get pregnant. It is therefore no surprise that crowds of guests are not flocking to their guesthouse when no one knows about this beautiful place. In addition, the guesthouse is run by two incompetent old women whom Julie hired to help out. Fortunately, her daughter Kačka, who had ADHD as a child and has been listening to her Hugo ever since, comes up with the idea of running a "Guesthouse for dogs... and their owners" with her four-legged friend.

An expedition arrives on planet Arkha, which appears desolate and uninhabited and yet suitable for a planned mass exodus from polluted Earth. One day seemingly from nowhere and quite unexpectedly a young boy wanders into their ship and then runs off.

However, their peaceful life is disrupted by the con man Kadlec, who has not forgotten that it was they who put him behind bars two years ago. All this time, all he's been thinking about is revenge. The formerly petty crook, with the help of his accomplices, his son-in-law Buresh and fellow prisoner "The Engineer", joins the drug trade and begins his revenge. Michal is arrested for the rape of a girl he has never seen in his life, and it doesn't take much for Tomas to figure out that Kadlec is behind it all. What Tomas also doesn't realise for a long time is that the sympathetic Ivana, who has joined their business and with whom he has fallen in love, also works as a luxury prostitute and was put into the business by Kadlec.

A successful chemist is forced to return his honeymoon vouchers to Greece. His fiancée has bought a dog for her hyperactive daughter against his wishes. Thanks to a conspiracy between the girl and the dog, the whole family ends up on vacation in the middle of the Šumava "wilderness." At first, the alternative vacation seems idyllic. All the plans of the ambitious father and caring mother gradually fall apart when the daughter and the dog meet someone who understands them. And that person has friends at the guesthouse where the family is staying. Of course, the mother and her fiancé find these people a little crazy. But the girl and the dog are perfectly happy with them. The life full of restrictions and obligations that the girl has led so far is becoming a thing of the past. None of the adults who find themselves in their vicinity can be sure that their lives will not change, whether they want it or not.

A young waiter named Michal gets into trouble when he is robbed of his daily takings, which he was supposed to deliver to the bank. He's on probation, so it's clear that no one trusts him. So he asks for help from a friend, Tomáš, a taxi driver, who borrows from Adamec, a dangerous bellhop. By chance, the two friends manage to find out that his colleague Kadlec and his son-in-law, garage keeper Bures, who is a stolen car dealer, are involved in Michal's robbery. With the help of Michal's girlfriend Magda, they devise a scam to punish the extortionist boss and hand over the two seemingly blameless scoundrels Kadlec and Bures to the police with the evidence.
