Anders returns to Denmark to visit his ill mom too late. Her lawyer tells him he's the illegitimate child of an estate owner. He goes there incognito and works on the big farm and falls for the maid and later for a gold digger.

A gentle comedy offering the promise of easy social consensus. Harry (Helmuth) is a simple old-time shop porter offered a chance at self-realisation when he's bequeathed a sum by an unknown relative (via several levels of fiscal blood suckers). He decides to engage a butler to take good care of him for a time. This is a man of distinguished upper class service, but a generous nature which happily integrates with Harry's small but colourful world of drinking buddies and crackpot neighbourhood kids.

Three siblings see each other again after many years at their father's deathbed. The eldest, Arthur, a lawyer, has everything under control – or so it seems, as the middle child, Irene, is struggling with her abusive husband, while little brother Michael is the outsider, living a sleepless life of booze and prostitutes. When their father is close to death, the three are called together, and a major family drama unfolds in their father's living room. Gradually, they agree that they should stand together instead of arguing about old affairs. But when their sick father suddenly falls down the stairs, it is as if all good intentions fall to the floor again.

A young teacher, Eva Nygaard, arrives in Greenland from Denmark to surprise her fiancé, the Doctor Erik Halsøe, but is crushed to find he has not waited for her and he is about to be married to his assisting nurse. Eva travels to a small fishing village to await the next ship back to Denmark. There she enters into a tense and often confrontational relationship with Jens, a quiet moody Dane who manages a trading company outpost. Meanwhile, Jens is trying to persuade a Greenlander named Pavia to become a company fisherman, despite Pavia's fear of alienating his fellow villagers and upsetting the spirit, Qivitoq.

The action takes place in a theater, where actor and theater director Poul Bech is shot by his co-star Eva Berthelsen in the middle of a premiere. The script says he should be shot, but not with real bullets! Everyone at the theater seems to have a reason to want him dead. However, another murder must be committed before the killer can be found.

When the Swedes occupy a Danish manor house, Svend Poulsen decides to help the family to safety. Along the way, Ib is taken prisoner. Svend Poulsen and his gang pretend to be a platoon of Swedish soldiers arriving at the castle where Ib is chained to the roof. During dinner that evening, the Swedish commander becomes suspicious, and soon the soldiers are fighting each other. However, Svend manages to free Ib.

In a large shoe store, Erik Hansen is the salesman for a sweet and smart young girl, Edith Bjørnfeldt, with whom he falls head over heels in love. He persuades her to go out with him in the evening. At a dance restaurant, they accidentally meet Edith's brother Willy Bjørnfeldt, a Copenhagener and one of the smart go-out types of the time. When Edith and her brother are alone at the table for a moment, Willy advises her to seize the opportunity and marry Erik, and thus say goodbye to the shoe business, which is hanging over her by the throat.

The entire population of Bomø has gathered for the big day. Finally, after 56 years, the bridge connecting Bomø to the mainland has been completed. With the parish council chairman at the helm and the minister cutting the ribbon to make it official, everything should be in perfect order. However, the county governor is absent, as he has a financial dispute with the ferrymen, brothers Søren and Peter Severinsen.

A good natured soldier with a killer right hand falls in love with a beautiful girl who has a troubled past.

With Anders Christensen as our tour guide, we follow one of the many travel companies—some of the participants are new faces, others are old acquaintances from "Eventyrrejsen" (The Adventure Trip).

How long should one continue to support one's adult, married, but well-spoiled children financially? One day, Mrs. Holm, a widow, grows tired of this and decides to cut off the flow of money. Once upon a time, there was a family consisting of the artist Michael, his wife Lydia, and their son Peter. But the couple divorced, and Lydia, who later married a wealthy businessman who left her so much money when he died that she is now financially independent, now lives in a charming country house, where her old, faithful factotum, Josse, rules the roost.

Jens and Trille Woller have only been married for six months, and so far they live happily together in their cozy artist's dormitory, where Jens works with a brush and palette in front of his easel, while Trille sits behind her typewriter and writes short stories for the weekly magazines. But that's only so far. They are both very young and very impulsive by nature, and it only takes a trifle for them to get into a fight.

Flemming argues a lot with his parents. So they agree that it would be best for Flemming to go to boarding school. Here he encounters a completely different world and now has to try to cope in a boys' environment. There he discovers how good it is to have a family and that it wasn't the best solution to the arguments.

The Winther family lives in a beautiful house and enjoys a life of luxury and comfort. No one knows where the money comes from, but we soon discover that all members of the family have their own speciality within the field of theft, which they have been involved in for generations. It started with the "great-grandfather", who was a counterfeiter. They appear to be respectable citizens, but appearances can be deceiving.

The 74-year-old widow, Juliane Cramer, is a very wealthy lady with an incredible appetite for life. Despite her advanced age, she rushes from one pleasure to another, from mannequin shows to boxing matches, and when her lawyer reminds her that it is time for her to write her will, she firmly rejects him. There is no urgency: "I have decided that I want to live for many more years, that's it". She is more than generous towards her nephews and nieces and their spouses. They all live in a property that belongs to her. That is why they have never paid a penny in rent. They know that, if things get tough, they can always 'borrow' a couple of hundred kroner or three from Aunt Cramer. So everything is very good - apparently...

Ellekjær's future is on Ann-Marie's mind. She tries to get her adopted daughter, Grete, married to Erik von der Rude, but Grete loves the farmhand Jørgen. They decide to get married, after which Annemarie disowns Grete. However, Ann-Marie's other daughter, Elin, is in love with Erik. Erik's past in Copenhagen catches up with him, and Elin moves in with her sister. The film then goes through a series of complications before Elin and Erik can finally get married and Ann-Marie is reunited with her daughters.

The beautiful and spoiled manufacturer's daughter Helga defiantly bets with her friends whether she can survive a whole year as a working housekeeper without financial help.

The film could just as well have been called "Where there is room in the heart, there is also room in the house," because it is actually about an old, seasoned people person's solution to the housing problem. He solves it in his own – admittedly unusual – way, but he solves it! Had he been a little more discreet, his invention would never have been discovered – and he could have lived the rest of his life carefree. But this experienced judge of character – whom we call "the Professor" – had one major flaw: his overly big heart for the small and unfortunate members of society in general and the homeless in particular. It is this unfortunate heart that sets the film in motion and accelerates the events.
