As supernatural forces slip through the cracks, four destinies are intertwined, and four souls are forced to confront their demons. A young woman’s hope for a fresh start is derailed by a mysterious enchanted mirror, while her psychiatrist is struck by visions of a terrifying accident. In the nearby city, a care worker uncovers dark and perverted secrets as he tends to a dying man, and writer’s block turns demonic for an ambitious musician.

Nationwide quietness. The streets are empty. Everyone’s glued to their screens at home, watching the final game. In the outskirts of Denmark, close to the German border, a small gas station needs to be open for service, even on this special night. Two young women have the shift. Ambitious Agnes is in the backroom putting finishing touches on her thesis, while free-spirited Belinda is on her phone, hoping to get the attention of her boyfriend. Unfortunately, the shift is not going to be as uneventful as they think, because no customers also means no witnesses, and the girls have been spotted to play a special part in a very different sort of game.

The Confession is a Danish film, an intense chamber drama infused with a twist of underlying humor, that delves into the boundaries of guilt, consent, and memory. Loui and Jacob, old friends from film school, meet in an anonymous hotel room. What Jacob doesn't know is that Loui has planned the evening as a confrontation: he wants to challenge Jacob with an accusation of a sexual assault he may have committed against their mutual friend, Sofie. As the night unfolds and their versions of the truth collide, the confrontation escalates into a gripping and emotionally charged battle over guilt and responsibility. In the final act, Sofie, the central figure in their conflict, enters the story, adding unexpected perspectives to an already complex narrative. The film, a Danish adaptation of Richard Linklaters's Tape, written by Stephen Belber, balances its heavy themes with subtle humor, challenging the audience to reflect on what defines an assault and who owns the truth.
