Across three eras, eerie dreams of a red snake connect the intertwined fates of two families. In 2026, Xiao Lian’s play about her grandmother Paochu’s guerrilla tales sparks a political backlash. Seeking Paochu’s hideout with the guide, Yulao, they find a dead Vietnamese logger. In 1989, police informant JunXian breaks from his handlers after confessing to Ya-Hong, Xiao Lian’s mother, who's the editor in chief of a magazine, then is framed for robbery and is tortured by the police. In 1952, A-Kun, an idealistic enforcer for Paochu’s guerrillas is also a henchman for them. History repeats itself as love and justice struggle against a legacy of hatred.

As final exam approach, a shocking “suicide notice” appeared in Enshan high school. It accuses the exam system of crushing students and threatens suicide on the exam day. The school is afraid of triggering more anxiety among students, and worried about its reputation. At the same time, they urgently try to identify the person. As the truth slowly unravels, it turned out to be a scandal in the education system.

In his attempt to help, Ah Dai agrees to participate in a special ritual that his schoolmates believe could help them seek assistance from the gods to grant their desires. However, they are lured into praying to evil forces instead. As his schoolmates die one after another, Ah Dai tries to use his gift to exorcise evil to save his friends. At the very end, he faces a completely demonized Yufan and must fight her to save the neighborhood.

Fang Lan

After getting married and having a child, Fang-Lan finds herself doing the same unchanging household chores day after day. Today she has received a invitation from her high school classmates association. Returning to a home where her son is constantly on the phone and her husband smells of alcohol, Fang-Lan's pent-up loneliness suddenly erupts…
