In the port of Alexandria, Captain Gad works on one of the mechanical boats. Gad orchestrates a ship accident that is taken as an act of God. Saidyh dies during the abortion, and Gamalat’s call to neighbors and the police results in their arrest and a fifteen-year prison sentence.
