The 1990s. Empty shelves in the shops, an economic abyss and criminal dramas that unfold literally at every corner. After a local shootout, Anton ends up in the police station, from where he is released at the intervention of Moscow’s crime lords. In exchange, the latter asks Anton for a small, but dangerous service

Viktor spends his free time trawling bars with ladies of questionable repute, from where he is picked up by a wife he doesn’t love, the mother of a child they never planned. Viktor himself was abandoned by his own father, his mother then committed suicide, and he was left to grow up in an orphanage. Years later, his errant dad returns, now a disabled felon, and Viktor discovers a timely legacy is in the offing – his father’s apartment. The documentation for securing dad’s move into an old people’s home is signed in a flash. Nevertheless, the only one that can take him is miles away and, what’s more, the invalid starts to recuperate during the journey, which is when their real problems begin.

Lena gets mixed up in an adventure of her girlfriend and agrees to participate in an exhibition. Unexpectedly she becomes a living statue: before hundreds of long- ing eyes, deprived of the possibility to move or speak – everything that remains is to meet herself and her inner enemies.

It seems that Yankee's next step is about to shed light on the circumstances of her mysterious death: hopeless love, arguments with loved ones, disagreements with herself, strange meetings with strangers in the forest.

The production by Kirill Serebrennikov revives all four of Alexander Pushkin's classic blank-verse dramas: "Mozart and Salieri", "The Miserly Knight", "The Stone Guest", and "Feast in Time of Plague". Without changing a single word of the original text, Serebrennikov seamlessly blends classic literature with the stark realities of the 21st century. The director explores human nature through a modern lens, reflecting on envy, greed, egocentrism, and the profound fear of aging and oblivion. In this reimagining, the Miserly Knight becomes an archivist of a vast library, his son turns into a motorcycle racer, and the grim "Feast in Time of Plague" takes place inside a modern nursing home. Serving as the central musical and thematic thread, famous Russian rapper Husky performs his own songs between the acts, acting as a contemporary Prophet and bridge between eras.
