With the appearance of a mysterious stranger, the absurd everyday life of four people living in an abandoned vacation resort in the woods comes apart at the seams.

Alice, uncommunicative and electrohypersensitive, lives in seclusion in a dead zone deep in the Northern German forest. But then her hermitage is suddenly disturbed by the sex worker Lucia, who settles on the border of Alice’s safe space with her lovemobile.

In a society of abstract figures, 1000 people live imprisoned in an immense space, distinguished by their social class, like a hive of bees. Their ultimate goal is to produce light, but only one will be able to! 1000 Kings is a conceptual and innovative animation, a poetic meditation on the origins of the universe with a geometric approach and psychedelic colors, inspired by both Western and Eastern mythologies.

Paris, 1830: Octave, betrayed by his mistress, sinks into despair and debauchery. His father's death leads him to the country where he meets Brigitte, a widow who is ten years his elder. Octave falls in love passionately, but will he have the courage to believe in it?

Set in a Medieval town, the film has a theatrical quality, as the behaviours and actions of the characters are exaggerated almost to the point of satire. Nevertheless, its relatively dark and heavy plot yields over-the-top expressions from the actors. There is little dialogue as the story opens: a mother is seen tending to her sick daughter, whom she is then told must be sacrificed to the forest. The viewers patiently but curiously watch the mother perform healing rituals with objects like egg shells, dried plants and twigs–also recurring in the installation–until the daughter mysteriously disappears.

Two women face the final moments of their relationship, navigating the tender rituals of goodbye. As they reflect on their separation, they immerse themselves in a world of care, loss and the transience of existence.

Anna is a 30-year-old actress who strives to be looked at while Phaedra is a woman of similar age who doesn't know what it means to look or to be looked at, as she was born blind. When they will meet for the needs of a theatre role their encounter will catapult them in a complex web of tension, dynamics and, ultimately, reconciliation.
