For 50 years, "Outer Man" has been a cultural icon in Japan, a superhero TV series as ingrained in the national psyche as Ultraman. Generations have grown up watching the heroic Outer Man defend Earth from the monstrous Sylvie Seijin. But the line between fiction and reality blurs when a giant alien, identical to Outer Man, descends upon Tokyo.

After her ex-cop father is murdered on Christmas Eve, Komugi finds a letter hinting at a dark conspiracy and teams up with a lawyer to uncover the truth.

Rika Inaba is a beautiful and strong-headed director at the Teito Television Broadcasting Company. Ever since she was young, she had dreamed of becoming the best news reporter in the business, but on into her fifth year with the TV station, she finds to her dismay she's been transferred to a lighter fare, information program where she is assigned to report on the Japan Air Self-Defense Force. Meanwhile, Daisuke Sorai had just reached his long-sought goal of becoming an aerobatics pilot only to injure his leg, crushing his chances at ever becoming a member of the elite Blue Impulse flying team. He gets assigned to the force's public relations desk and subsequently finds himself attached to Rika in the role of attendant. Sorai and Rika differ on just about everything; their views, their mindset. But they share one thing: their childhood dreams have been shattered and they've hit a wall in life. From there, a mutual understanding begins to germinate, drawing them toward each other and toward the discovery of a new dream.

Set on Hashima Island in Nagasaki Prefecture during the coal industry's rise in 1955, this story follows themes of family, friendship, and love. It contrasts the post-war era, where people had little but were full of dreams, with present-day Tokyo, where abundance prevails, but young people struggle to find their dreams.

Heisuke teaches at his alma mater, an all-boy’s Buddhist high school and leads a very ordinary life, except for the fact that he is still tortured by the memory of an unfortunate incident that took place there involving him and his school 14 years ago. In hopes of closure, he strikes upon a plan to jointly hold this year’s Culture Festival with a nearby girl’s school, with which there are chilly relations. Determined at all costs to make the event a success, Heisuke finds himself dealing with a constant stream of problems along the way.

She has a hard time finding a job and having relationships with men. Now, at the age of 31, she works as a teacher at a private institute. 3 men, who vary in type, appear in front of her. Masashi Yakumo is smart and a cousin of Junko, Kyohei Yuri is a disorderly high school student and Kazuma Yamashita is Kyohei ’s teacher in high school.

A mediatised married couple who no longer love each other is highly optimistic about getting a divorce. However, external circumstances will get in their way and they will have no other choice but to work hand in hand to reach their ultimate goal: getting a divorce.
