A Story to Read When You First Fall in Love

Utagawa Hiroshige, along with Katsushika Hokusai, is widely recognized in the world of Ukiyo-e, Japanese Woodblock Print. However, it is lesser known that Hiroshige was also a firefighter while he painted. This drama depicts the untold story of Hiroshige and his wife, Kayo.

Yae no Sakura is a 2013 Japanese television series. It is the 52nd NHK taiga drama. The story focuses on Niijima Yae, who is portrayed by Haruka Ayase.

Katsu (Mitsuko Baisho) is a 73-years-old woman. She often makes trouble with her biting remarks. While raising a daughter alone, Katsu was unable to live the life she wished for. One day, Katsu goes to a photo studio and takes a picture. She leaves the photo studio, but finds that she is now 20-years-old (Mikako Tabe) again. Katsu changes out of her grandmother clothes, picks out a more youthful style and names herself Setsuko Otori. Later, Katsu decides to take part in a singing contest held in a shopping district. Her singing fascinates the audience and she wins the contest. Katsu begins to move closer to her past dream of becoming a singer.

As a 24-year-old woman, Ogata Makoto doesn't like to show her true self or draw attention to herself in her private life or when she is at work. This is because she doesn't want to be disliked. One night, Ogata Makoto had an accident. The accident causes her to lose the memory of herself. She finds a male ring in her bag, but she doesn't remember who she was going to give the ring to. Soon, three men appear in front of Ogata Makoto, and the ring fits perfectly on all three of them. One of them proclaims himself as her ex-lover, one man claims to be her only male friend, and the other man claims to be her man of fate. Each of them has their own lies.

A young Tokugawa Mitsukuni (Yamamoto Koji) meets a homeless orphan Ryosuke (Kurokawa Souya). Surprised by his deadly skills with a wooden sword, Mitsukuni invites him to the covert organisation known as Juninshu. The members of Juninshu are orphans with outstanding skills. They conduct intelligence work using their special abilities and help to capture criminals. With the help of Juninshu, Mitsukuni discovers that Nishiki Hyonosuke (Kato Shigeaki) is the leader of the gang of arsonists that caused the Great Fire of Meireki. Hyonosuke is the son of Unkei (Ishizaka Koji), a sculptor specialising in Buddha statues whom Mitsukuni admires. Unkei has lived to bring Hyonosuke, who has gone off the right path, to justice with his own hands. Hyonosuke aims to overthrow the Tokugawas and a fierce battle is imminent. Worried for Mitsukuni, his wife Yasu (Matsumoto Honoka) seeks the help of the great swordsman Yagyu Gisen (Tachi Hiroshi).

After her mother dies, Kyoka moves in with her father, Rintaro, who begins to obsess over finding spouses for himself and his daughter.

A university student kills her father with no apparent motive. But is her claim that she is a liar simply another lie? A psychologist burdened with her own scars seeks to uncover the truth. There, she discovers a fabricated past and the screams of a soul violated by those she loved. Based on the novel by Shimamoto Rio.

"Red Spider Lily" is an eclectic unit that includes a science geek, a single mom, and a woman who grew up abroad. Seen by many as a department that's been taken off the main career track, "Red Spider Lily" turns out to be full of fabulous detectives!

Matsumoto Shouen became a buddhist monk after being unable to save his friend that was drowning right in front of him as a child and also became a doctor. While also engaging in saving people at the hospital, he works as a monk and offers care to the terminally ill. Sometimes, his monk robes cause a commotion as patients misunderstand that they are already dead. In addition, his chanting is disliked not only be patients but by his fellow colleagues. Despite that, he works brightly and seriously as a monk and as a doctor.

Set in the Meiji era, two young women who graduate from the same nursing school forge an unbreakable bond as they navigate the hardships of early modern medicine, working tirelessly alongside doctors while fighting to prove themselves in a changing Japan.
