A documentary filmmaker returns to his hometown and buys a photo shop. He earns his living as a wedding photographer, but his personal life is in disarray.

An innocent and beautiful girl, Linnea rents an apartment in Stockholm just before WWI. As she works for an old man who owns a photography studio she meets Anna, a photographer with whom she develops a complex friendship. Anna’s circus-performer boyfriend and European politics complicate Linnea’s routine.

Based on play by famous swedish author/playwright August Strindberg adapted for swedish TV in 70's. It's about the real life assassination on swedish king Gustav III who was killed by a lieutenant Jacob Johan Anckarström who acted on behalf of a group conspirators.

The world, the student learns, is hell and human beings must suffer to achieve salvation. The play centers on a family of strangers who meet for the sake of meeting. They exchange no dialogue, nor gestures, they simply sit and bask in their own misfortune.

About the artist Tamara de Lempicka. At the outbreak of the World War One she fled Poland and settled in Paris. She was quickly drawn into the interaction with Paris's cultural elite.

Latvian soldiers seek political asylum in Sweden after their country falls under Russian control at the end of World War II. They had been forced into military service by the Nazis to fight against the Russians. Fearing reprisals from the Russians for fighting against them, they struggle desperately to stay in Sweden. After a hunger strike, suicides, and political intervention by Sweden fails to keep them from their former enemy, they are ultimately given over to the Russian authorities. The men are sentenced to hard labor in prison camps and later released, and Latvians are plunged into repression by the aftermath of the bloody war. The cycle of political unrest was still apparent more than 50 years after the conflict.

Verner is a faithful staff manager. He seems to live a perfect family life, but the relationships are fragile. One morning, a man comes to the office. He is looking for a job, but his behavior is pretty strange. Verner makes fun of him. What he does not know is that they soon will meet again, under completely different circumstances.
