A dark atmosphere pervades this film in true noir fashion. So does the feeling that our principals are trapped. They fight their way against economic forces and their status in life, and love might conquer all.

In a poor neighborhood of Athens, next to the coffee shop of Spyros (Mimis Fotopoulos) is a coffee shop that has gained a great reputation and is preparing to move to Kolonaki as it has made a lot of money by telling the cup. In the same neighborhood is a laundress, Kalliopi (Georgia Vassiliadou), who makes a living by force. One day, after an incident in which a customer (Kostas Mentis) humiliates Kalliopi and Spyros intervenes, he comes up with an idea: for Kalliopi to run the coffee shop, since the other one has left.

Antonis Tsilivikis, a stingy construction contractor, neglects his home and wife Eleni and forces her to lie to her rich uncle in America, Peter, in order to continue to send a monthly financial aid. But when the uncle notices that he comes to Greece, and in order not to reveal the truth, Antonis disguises himself as a retired named Beizanis, who supposedly rents a room at their home...

When it comes to his wife, Orestis is suspicious of everything, be it a moustachioed chauffeur or a lost pair of bumblebee-yellow gloves. But, are his fears justified or is this case of the lost fashion accessories a big misunderstanding?

Thanasis loves his wife but his mother-in-law puts pressure on him. His friend Giorgos convinces him to make them feel jealous by having a false mistress but things go wrong and Thanasis tries to save his marriage.

Two ambitious junior employees from different social backgrounds, an aspiring author and the elegant daughter of a failed industrialist, see their youthful optimism turn into utter defeat. But what is the cost of a lost dream?
