Starving artists who already have a number of films to their names, Czech Lion award-winning films, excellent reviews and have been screened at numerous festivals, but they don't have audiences. Their next collaborative effort - the Director's lifetime dream - is quickly becoming oblivion because he failed to win a grant, which means it won't be made. And so the frustrated Director and his colleagues await their chance among record-holders of curious disciplines such as crawling with a squash racket or collecting four-leaf clovers. How will the collision of these two worlds end? What will the Director's next film be about?

An exciting drama from a detective history. In 1899 a dead girl - seamstress Anežka Hrůzová - was found between the village of Věžnička and the town of Polná. Dostoevsky’s latter-day opus about the siblings and their father is among the masterpieces of world literature. It asks profound questions about ethics and religion. Is there a God? Does the devil exist? Is everything allowed because we live in a world without morality? And if so, does patricide even constitute a crime? One of the most interesting adaptations of the material is The Karamazovs by Czech director Petr Zelenka. We witness a group of thesps from Prague on a trip to Krakow in Poland to stage the novel as a play in a derelict steelworks as part of the Closer to Life Festival. The project, however, is born under the bad sign, apparently doomed from the start. When they arrive, the roof is about to cave in, so that the actors are told to wear safety helmets. Their sole consistent audience is a laborer (Andrzej Mastalerz) who rather follows each dress rehearsal than watching over his seven-year-old son who has suffered a tragic accident in the factory.

Even amongst Christmas decorations a spark of fancy may appear. What to do though when merciless Fate (or the human hand) has placed our beloved right to the other side of the tree? No use crying when a decoration wants to achieve something - it must unhook itself. And thus, our snowman Karel sets off with the straw angel Kamil in search of snow-lass Eva. They wander through the Christmas tree overcoming obstacles, and with the help of other distinctive decorations they eventually reach Eva who is being held captive by the evil Balls brothers.

When not serving regulars at a pub in the middle of a sleepy northern Moravian village, thirtysomething Maruna spends time with hesitant Jura and naïve outsider Olin – or fighting with her imperious mother. Lightened with a touch of black humor, this laconic village drama is the directorial debut of the artistic director of Prague’s Dejvice Theater who gave the members of his ensemble a one-of-a-kind acting opportunity in film.

However, he is guilty of violating his king's order, and so he faces either the death penalty or an uncertain and dangerous journey to find Goldilocks, a princess from a mysterious kingdom in the middle of a lake. He therefore sets off on a journey accompanied by Stephen, with whom he grew up since childhood, and a small dog named Lucky, whose life George saved. George is faced with a whole series of adventures and surprises along the way. He has no idea that Stephen is jealous and is not as sincere a friend as he seemed. Fortunately, George has brave allies, the animals he has helped.

Three friends from a small town - František, a doctor; Oskar, the director of the local museum; and Robert, a physical education teacher - are faced with an unexpected task. They have only fourteen days to save their children's traditional summer camp, which was unexpectedly destroyed by a storm. Their last hope is a meadow below Tramberk Castle. However, the castle's caretaker is the eccentric Evžen, who is happiest when no tourists come to the castle. But when Kudláková from the Heritage Preservation Department puts pressure on Evžen, saying that if he doesn't reach three thousand visitors in two weeks, she will hold a competition for a new caretaker, Evžen agrees to František's proposal and allows the camp to take place. However, on the condition that they help him with the visitor numbers... The situation is further complicated by František's animosity towards the new teacher Lenka.

It is often only a few hundred meters from the chemical laboratory to the nearest pharmacy. But on this journey, the drug molecule undergoes a process worth hundreds of millions of dollars, often involving thousands of people. That is, the molecule that is lucky enough to reach its destination. The play Elegance of the Molecule follows three such substances and their three "fathers," one of whom was the brilliant Czech chemist Professor Antonín Holý. It explores the creation and dramatic industrial development of substances from Czech chemical laboratories that today treat AIDS in more than sixty percent of patients worldwide. Otto Wichterle had his famous story about how he built a device for centrifuging the first contact lenses using a Merkur construction kit. Petr Zelenka's play looks for such a "Merkur" in the life of chemist Antonín Holý.
