In order to save his daughter, Sang Rajuna Tapa opens the gate of the fort and lets the army of the Majapahit into the sultanate.

Zaiton comes under the influence of the spell cast by a snake spirit. With her body under possession, she incapacitates her father and is lured to a hypnotised rendezvous with the snake spirit in his harem pit. The spirit takes on an anthropomorphised form and charms Zaiton, convincing her that her fiancée Rahim is a philanderer. Rahim and Zaiton’s father turn to a wise shaman to rescue Zaiton.

The movie adaptation based on the legend of Raden May Ayu. It follows the original tale rather closely, though a few variations of the legend do exist. The essence of each of the variations is more or less the same: Radin Mas Ayu is the baby daughter of Pangeran (brother of the Sultan of Java) and a court dancer; she is forced to go on exile to Temasek with his father after the Sultan disagrees with her parents' marriage and burns their house down, killing her mother. Radin Mas Ayu grows up to be a pious and filial daughter, but is despised out of jealousy by her stepmother. She eventually sacrifices herself as she shields her father from a murderous attack.

The third tale ’Double Knock Out’, heralded as the first depiction of a local boxing match, was shot in Happy World (later renamed Gay World), one of the night-life amusement parks known as the ‘Worlds’. Deliberately making a deal with him, Pendekar Helang took Sundang Panca Sakti which was said to be able to kill the evil swordsman from Penghulu Malim's storage to be given to Swordsman Daing as a trick to kill him. There was a fight between those who were the key to peace in the village.

The film Dewi Murni is an adaptation of Kalidasa’s Shakuntala. This is established through the identification of chronological events that are similar to the story of Shakuntala authored by Kalidasa. Adaptations have been made to the Indian story, transforming it to the Malay version and prominent differences are notable. The principal story of Dewi Murni remains the same whereby the main characters meet in unlikely surroundings, woo and get married. Both King Dushyanta [in Shakuntala] and King Indraloka [in Dewi Murni] lose memory of their wives (in different ways), the heroines lose their signet rings and are rejected by their respective husbands at the palace court. In both stories, the rings are discovered in a fish’s maw and upon its re-emergence, the kings’ memories of their respective wives are regained.
