Carlo del Ponte, a pop star celebrated in the U.S., travels to his hometown of Santa Clara, Italy, to take some time off. Not only does Carlo find himself caught up in an armed robbery there, but his pretty cousin Antonella is missing her father and believes he has fallen victim to the old family feud between the del Pontes and the Tartinis. Now Carlo is supposed to help resolve the matter as peacefully as possible.

"Festival of Hearts" is the name of the new pop music show by popular DJ Camillo. He came up with the idea by chance. Marcel, a young bank employee, almost hit a charming young girl with his car. Angry, she lent him her jack, but then disappeared forever. He cannot forget her and tries to find her again through the show "Schlagerfreunde" (Schlager Friends). And that becomes the idea for Camillo's new show: to bring couples who have lost each other back together through a melody. For Marcel, it happens faster than expected, because his great love is none other than Camillo's secretary, who can follow his cries for help from the control room.

While on tour somewhere in Italy, a famous German pop singer loses his voice. All tickets for the concerts have long been sold out. Someone from the "Star's" entourage finds a young local guy who used to walk around the city singing in a very similar voice. From then on, the pop star stood on stage in front of the microphone, only opening his mouth, while the unknown street singer sang for him, standing in front of the microphone behind the scenes. At the end of the film, the star's voice returns, and he begins to sing solo and in a duet with the young singer.

Ellinor Patton is so wealthy that her six unsuccessful marriages are considered befitting of her status. She is currently unhappily single again and hoping for her lucky number seven. Vico, the hotel owner's son, dreams of a career as a singer and is in love with the flower girl Blanche. His father is eagerly trying to prevent both. Vico proves that he really has talent at a concert by the Mantovani orchestra.

The famous singer Roberto Ricci wants to save himself from his overly intrusive female fans with a fake marriage. Mr. Praxl from the marriage institute Eros finds him his own granddaughter Gertie, who works as a waitress and wants to finance her own singing and dancing career with the fee for the role of his wife. To comply with Mr. Ricci's wishes, the attractive Gertie disguises herself as a wallflower with her hair pinned up and high-necked dresses. The act has the desired effect on Roberto's female followers. Over time, however, Gertie and Roberto actually fall in love with each other, which sparks the jealousy of Roberto's stage partner Loretta. With the help of Füllkrug, she tries to thwart the budding romance.

Tatort is a long-running German/Austrian/Swiss crime television series set in various parts of these countries. The show is broadcast on the channels of ARD in Germany, ORF in Austria and SF1 in Switzerland.
