Beat Takeshi lives the busy and sometimes surreal life of a showbiz celebrity. One day he meets his blond lookalike named Kitano, a shy convenience store cashier, who, still an unknown actor, is waiting for his big break. After their paths cross, Kitano seems to begin hallucinating about becoming Beat.

This TV special takes place one year after the events depicted in the 1996 series Hakusen Nagashi, following the same group of friends.

"Kaibyo Densetsu" - Maki (Chizuru Ikewaki), who finds it strange that her best friend appears as a living spirit, goes to check on her. "Nanika ga Tsuite iru" - (Atsushi Itô) performs at a live concert under the direction of a female teacher who appears in front of him, and learns the truth behind the mysterious incident. "Hanako-san" - In order to escape from the curse of Sakurako, who committed suicide because of them, a former member of the newspaper club and his friends begin the Hanako-san ritual.

Mizusawa (Takenouchi Yutaka), an explosives expert, is arrested and charged with a string of bank robberies. Because he is a flight risk, Detective Kayama (Ogata Ken) is assigned to transport Mizusawa to Shizuoka for questioning. On the way, Kayama receives word that the hotel where his wife and daughter are attending a party has been rigged with a time bomb. Being a "by-the-book" kind of cop, Kayama refuses to abandon his job and return to help his family. Meanwhile, the hotel is swarming with police and the bomb squad who are searching for the bomb and the culprit. Time is almost up. Mizusawa claims that he is the only who who can deactivate the bomb.

Jun, a Japanese freelance reporter, discovers hidden gem of Korean traditional bakery "Moran-dang" by chance in the middle of the city of Seoul, while covering stories of the city. Moran-dang takes him back to his memory of childhood and urges him to stay there for more stories. One day, Moran-dang is vandalized by construction villains in town who maliciously try to take the spot of the bakery and the owner and chef, Sang-woo, gets his hands injured. When Moran-dang is in danger of closing, little brother Sang-hyuk returns home after drifting apart. As Jun inspires Sang-hyuk to restore his family tie and the secret recipes, Sang-hyuk and Jun are connected in friendship to save Moran-dang.

Detective Ukyo Sugishita confronts crime on the basis of his own convictions. He has a partner that works for him in the Special Task Unit. Teppan is a Japanese television drama that aired on NHK in 2010–2011. It was the 83rd Asadora. It starred a new actress, Miori Takimoto, in the role of a young woman raised by an adopted family in Onomichi who learns of her real grandmother and decides to move to Osaka to start an okonomiyaki restaurant. The title word "teppan" refers to the metal surface on which okonomiyaki are cooked. The series, while interrupted by the Tohoku Earthquake, averaged a 17.2% rating, making it the fourth most popular of the Asadora dramas in the previous five years.
