William Shakespeare’s “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” is tackled by a quirky group of teachers in the Theatre Basel production, exploring Greek mythology and an enchanted forest. Oberon and Titania’s marital strife affects two Athenian couples, while Puck’s well-meaning actions worsen the chaos. Despite the magic and intrigue, the lovers unite, allowing the Athenian royal wedding to proceed. The school principal and his wife portray Oberon and Titania, the history teacher is Helena, and the ethics teacher becomes Puck. Initially planning to rehearse “Pyramus and Thisbe,” the faculty’s production is a celebration of imagination, with costume and set designer Matthias Koch creating seamless transitions. The play is a joyful, humorous exploration of theatre itself.

Moreover, the chauvinistic remarks of her comrade-in-arms David who feels comfortable around the clichéd gender stereotypes from the Stone Age seemingly prevalent in Cannes infuriate Isabell. As if this wasn’t enough already, a shattering feedback on her new film project by a potential investor finally causes her to doubt herself. Before she can live her dream up at the Olympus of film business, she must first find out who really believes in her.

The shy late twenties Torsten tile lives with his mother in a bleak Berlin slab. In the guise of his alter ego "Lux - Warrior of Light" he tries to make the world a little bit better. He distributes food to the homeless and helps out on his forays through the city wherever he can. Nina and Karl are a perfectly normal, crazy couple. They can't live with or without each other. But suddenly, Nina can no longer stand the routine and decides to run away. She wants to be somebody else, though not (yet) an adult. The unfamiliar loneliness also affects Karl. Nina, meanwhile, doesn't seem to be able to get rid of Karl quite so easily.
